Low and Behold, Tom Colicchio's Meatpacking Gem Continues to Shine At first glance, it's likely a neighborhood you wouldn't "stumble" upon. Tucked behind the Chelsea Market on a spooky block of 10th Avenue lies craftsteak, one of three quality restaurants located about 200 feet apart (... Read More

[Kalina, 5/17/06.] Yes, indeed, this is Craftsteak, Tom Colicchio's NoMeat steak stake. One highly credible initial report was "the "Hawaiian beef" was very chewy but well flavored and the "Hereford" beef, virtually tasteless but very tender," but there is little qu... Read More

Architecturally, Craftsteak is really beautiful. The bar area, which is completely separate from the restaurant by a cellared wall of wine, it is quite large. Lots of light, steel, glass, etc. Simple, modern and elegant at the same time. The first round of reviews on Craftsteak were abysmal. ... Read More

85 Tenth Ave., at 15th St. (212)400-6699 In an interesting turn of events, it seems that Shane McBride has curiously emerged from the kitchen at Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak. That's right, ladies and gentlemen. Chef de cuisine Chris Albrecht has left the building (a month ago). After opening th... Read More

Sure, it looks like Halo 3, but it's really a luxury casino hotel.Photo courtesy Foxwoods Just a few weeks after David Burke announced plans to open three restaurants in the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods, Craftsteak has planted its own flag. Week in Reviews 7/19/06: We have the Bruni said/Platt said on Le Cirque (the both said two stars), then another thinly veiled recommendation that Tom Collicchio finds his way off the reality show set, back into the kitchen at Craftsteak. Then the Elsewhere comes through big. Wheels-up, folks, here... Read More
