| dmalawer wrote a post about Strip House... Wow is about all I can used to describe the Steak I ate last Saturday night. I have been watching this place on my list of NYC Steak houses for quite sometime, and the only regret I have is that I didn't get here sooner. Hands down it was the best Strip Steak that I have had in years. While I consider myself an expert in the knife and fork league, I can be a pain in the ass when ordering my steak.... You see I like it rare and red, but warm, not cold, but if it’s pink, it’s too well and back it goes. Some would say I like it between rare and medium rare. When the waiter suggested that I take it rare, and he'll tell the chef to leave it on an extra 1/2 a minute or so, I was skeptic. When he asked me if I which size I wanted, I was even more nervous (as I am about 275 lbs). They have 2 Strips, I being the glutinous carnivore that I am, ordered the 20 oz. (over the 16 oz). At $54 it better be good. When it arrived at first glance it was cooked perfect. At first taste, I was in sold. I ate the entire steak! My wife, a former vegetarian that I converted shortly after we were Wed, ordered the Fillet Mignon. It too was cooked perfect to her liking. She too claimed it was the best she has had. I can second that, as I was fortunate enough to eat a portion of hers as well..... Look it’s got to be great if you’re eating over 20 oz of meat. The couple that joined us got the Porter House.
